Now it was time to climb to the top to release the straps. I was
wearing a full body harness with three safety straps (one to a D-loop
on each side of my waist and a third for the fall-arrest lanyard
attached to the D-loop between my shoulder blades), but heights for me
are a bit dicey. Surprisingly, the wind gusts didn't bother me
much and I felt safe the whole way up. Triple redundancy has its
virtue.
Task accomplished.
Viewed against the blue sky, the tower stands out quite strongly but at least there isn't any glare from it.
Viewed against the hillside from only 200 meters way, though, the tower is almost impossible to spot.
It's dead center in this picture, and you can find it if you
look closely enough. I think the camouflage paint was worth the
trouble, and I suspect that the neighbors probably agree.
